What Happens to the Mulch?
When we chip branches and green waste on site, you have a choice about what happens to the material:
Keep it for your garden. Fresh wood chip mulch is excellent for garden beds. It retains moisture in the soil, suppresses weeds, moderates soil temperature and breaks down over time to add nutrients. If you’d like to keep the mulch, just let us know and we’ll leave it in a spot that works for you.
We take it away. If you don’t want the mulch, we’ll load it and take it off site. We recycle green waste where possible, so nothing goes to landfill unnecessarily.
Either way, we leave the site clean. There’s no pile of branches left behind and no mess for you to deal with.
Why Mulch Works So Well on the Gold Coast
The Gold Coast’s subtropical climate creates ideal conditions for mulch to do its job. Hot summers, intense sun and periods of heavy rainfall all stress garden beds - mulch helps manage all of these.

Yes. If you’ve done your own pruning and have a pile of branches you need processed, we can come out with the chipper and deal with it. Get in touch with a rough idea of the volume and we’ll give you a quote.

Our commercial chippers can handle branches of significant size. For very large trunk sections, these are generally cut into rounds rather than chipped. We’ll let you know at quote stage how the material will be processed.

Wood chip mulch typically breaks down over 1 to 3 years depending on the size of the chips, the climate and how much moisture and activity the garden gets. In the Gold Coast climate, breakdown can happen relatively quickly due to heat and humidity - which is actually good for your soil but means you may want to top up every couple of years.
